Opening of production plant India

The HELUKABEL Group, specialists for electrical connection technology, expanded its network of worldwide production facilities by launching a new production facility in India in mid-June. Control cables and single conductors according to German and Indian standards as well as customer-specific solutions will be manufactured here.

Since 2003, HELUKABEL has been represented by its subsidiary in India. The new factory is located near the city of Gandhinagar in the western part of the country and will supply the subcontinent's quickly growing market going into the future. "India, the most populous country on Earth, is experiencing a technological and economic boom," explains Marc Luksch, Managing Director of the HELUKABEL Group. "With this new production facility, we are happy that we are now able to serve our local customers more quickly, comprehensively and flexibly in the future."

The production facility employs around 30 employees producing cables comprised of conductor stranding classes 1-5, with and without braided shielding or steel wire armouring. What makes this production facility special is that many of the products produced by HELUKABEL India are done so according to the Indian BIS standard, which is an important criterion for cables being installed in machines and equipment destined for sale to Indian companies. In the future, cables will also be produced according to the German VDE standard. "Through this, our cables fulfill the highest requirements for quality and are also suitable for both local and international use. This is highly valuable for our export-oriented customers," clarifies Marc Luksch. With logistics and sales facilities in the cities of Mumbai and Pune, combined with the new production facility, HELUKABEL is in an ideal position to secure its place in India's growing market moving into the future.
